Here's something a bit different. A drawing I enjoyed doing quite a bit. It's the first TV we ever owned. Manufactured by PYE in about 1957. I based it on a photo I found on the net of a set that was showing the wear and tear of time. I thought I'd make it look like new.

  1. I thought this was a photo at first so certainly take that as a compliment. And how did I miss this blog for so long? Thank you for sharing more of your work with us on here.

  2. An old TV ?, your old school ? Could it be you're actually drawing for the sheer sake of it and enjoying yourself ?

  3. They are two drawings from a sort of picto-memoir I'm doing. Mostly photos and scans but the occasional drawing will appear. I'll post a couple of pages (lo res).

  4. There's not enough wood in the home today, especially in electronics. The old tvs and radios had a real elegance about them. I've recently bought an early 70s Sony receiver with a wooden case and it really warms my heart just looking at it. From the eighties onwards it's been downhill, especially the grotty plastic Amstrad tat. I see some of the DAB radios use a bit of wood or laminate on some models so it's not gone completely.
