Detail of the day.

I coloured this up for the cover of a book of my rough prelims published in Singapore.

  1. Terrific expression. I really like seeing the pencil work here. When Disney produced 101 Dalmations' and Jungle Book they realised the newly invented Xerox machines could copy the pencils straight to acetate. It proved economical because it sped up the process (no inking) but it also introduced a new style in which line would break apart, it gave the line a 'tooth' and somehow made it more endearing - like sketchbooks come alive. Your pencil work is definite enough that it would have been interesting to see some strips published this way. Maybe I'm alone but sketchbooks / sketches have so much heart.
